Was lucky enough to be in London for a couple of days early this week on RTE Radio 1 duty and with a bit of time to spare. We were there for this – thanks to the Irish Literary Society for organising a room, guests and an audience for our one hour Poetry Programme Special.
It’ll go out on Xmas Eve at 7pm.
Managed to fit in a few other pretty picture taking opportunities along the way…
And then it was to the new extension of Tate Modern for the first time after lying around in the Turbine Hall for a while. The Tanks below are populated with fascinating and weird experimental things, the new main collection rooms allow things like Carl Andre’s bricks to have a proper space and then the viewing platform ten stories up is, to put it mildly, breathtaking…
Well worth your time if you’re there and the view costs nothing as opposed to the fortune to go up to the top of The Shard…
