Playing Jack Johnson on loop in the café this morning… Maybe someone influential was listening to my suggestion on the show the other night (that if you have to play background music that he’s a good middle-ground starting point)?

I cant find any nice cafes on my way to work 🙁 any suggestions?
As I feel that my future lies in mooning around in a black beret with a copy of Baudelaire’s ‘Les Fleurs du Mal’ a nice coffee shop (With non suicidal music) is a must.
That depends on where your way to work is!
It varies – Yesterday and today Holles St. – generally Leeson Lane.
Although my des res in Townsend St. leaves me open to pretty much anything D2 ish.
Also leaves me open to that particularly virulent brand of American tourist you get in the city centre at this time of year. You know the kind with the gleaming white trainers, plasticky rain ponchos (bought at Disneyland 27 years ago) and vocal projection that would make an opera singer cry.
Im thinking that I need something kinda offbeat but not pretentious. Something to lift me out of my early morning naval gazing mist – Thoughts?
Then my personal favourite has to be Elephant & Castle in Temple Bar. The California Sunrise (hash browns, poached eggs, french toast, bacon) is for the true, hardcore breakfast obsessives 🙂
