Here’s a weird one for Sunday night…
How strange is it to decide the music I play on my radio show on the basis of listening to usually no more than the first 60 seconds? That’s all most songs get if I’m to have enough time to listen to them all. It may seem strange to be able to make decisions like that on such flimsy evidence but it seems completely normal to me… I’m reading Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink at the moment – maybe it’s a form of thin slicing?
I’m also looking for plugs on your blog/site, love, purchases of Pugwash & Friends – Tinsel & Marzipan. I know there are many charitable things demanding your time and effort every Christmas but this is truly the most important one π It’s Thomas, Neil Hannon, Mundy and Dave Gregory from XTC all one a brand new Christmas song that’s benefitting Brainwave. He tells the story of its conception and birth HERE.
I’ll be playing it tomorrow night, it’s on sale in all good record stores this Friday and they’re (all!) performing it on Tubridy Tonight this Saturday and on my show a week tomorrow…
Tomorrow night it’s the birth of our first ever Screen Dating night! Amanda will be playing ringmistress in a secret Dublin location to 12 guys and 12 girls and our screening of “The Holiday” and as to whether it turns out to be the start of a phenomenon or it all goes pear shaped we won’t find out til after 6…
It’s also Amanda’s birthday on Wednesday so spread the love π

I read most blog posts, via bloglines, and if the title and first sentence doesn’t look interesting I move to the next one. It’s not surprising you only listen to 60 seconds.
