Thanks to the heads I know in Guinness who let me go for a peek in to the new Open Gate Brewery Bar yesterday. They’re the new spot where the brewers there are getting to play beer gods / Willy Wonkas and experiment with new stuff, some of which will never leave the premises.

Nitro IPA? 7.4% Strong Barrel Ale? OGB Imperial Dunkel Weisse anyone?

It’s not part of the traditional Storehouse complex at all (you get in near the church on James’s Street) and it’s open from next Thursday every Thursday and Friday night from 5.30 til 10.30…. for now. Meet the brewers (all of whom are serious craft heads!) and watch the brewing going on just over the wire next to your table.

They’ll be doing samplers, pints and growlers and it’s very, very impressive stuff. Just hope I didn’t outstay my welcome yesterday gentlemen…
